Send us Fan MailDr. Julieanne Sees, DO, FAAOS, FAOA, FAOAO, is an AOA board-certified osteopathic orthopedic surgeon with dual fellowship training in pediatric orthopedic surgery and neuro-orthopedic surgery. She notably has been recently named a 2021 "Top Doc of America." She currently is the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine fellow in Osteopathic Medicine, serving on the National Academy of Medicine Action Collaborative on Clinician Well-Being and Resilience and Committee on Accelerating Progress in Traumatic Brain Injury Research and Care.Dr. Sees received her degree in osteopathic medicine from Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois. During medical school, she received several honors, including the Illinois Medical Society Student of the Year Award and the National Medical Council of Student Government Presidents Student DO of the Year. She went on to complete a combined internship and orthopedic residency at the former University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine. During residency, she received AOF’s Outstanding Resident of the Year Award. Her passion for promoting clinician resiliency and traumatic brain injury research, prevention, and care are at the forefront of her practice.An active member of the osteopathic medical profession, Dr. Sees serves on the AOA’s Committee on Governance and Organizational Structure as vice chair, the American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) Board of Directors, and the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedic Surgery Publications and Communications as chair. Currently, she is president of the Delaware State Osteopathic Medical Society and president of the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine Alumni Association (CCOMAA) Board of Governors.Tune in to hear  Dr. Sees' story about how she went from working in development at a major pharmaceutical company to a CCOM student and her advice to students interested in pursuing pediatric orthopedic surgery and neuro-orthopedic surgery.
