Episode 62 - Patient Story - Ricky Bytel
from Move It or Lose it - The Podcast
My guest today, Ricky Bytel, is someone I've gotten to know through working with him (remotely) in my Disrupt Move and Transform (DMAT) Program. His story is a really interesting one so I wanted to feature him on the podcast.Ricky was 12 at the time of his mother's diagnosis with MS, and when his father left home he had to step up to manage the household finances. At a very young age he had to take the household finances. Following college and prior to his own MS diagnosis, he was physically active and managed his own business. In our conversation, we talk about Ricky's mother's diagnosis with MS at a time when the only treatment available to her was a course of steroids. We also discuss whether MS is hereditary or not, our personal experiences with MS medications and cannabis. stem cell treatment, and service dogs!DISCLAIMERThe information contained in this podcast is for informational purposes only and is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
