Episode 64

from THE KNGDOM PODCAST · host KNG GOLF

Welcome to Episode 64 of the KNGDOM – a golf-focused show with a variety of sports, music, and commerce mixed in.  We had a big picture discussion on the Premier Golf League. The Premier Golf League is a new league "prototype" that has been working behind the scenes for over 8 years now. We discuss a recent interview on No Laying Up podcast featuring the founder of the Premier Golf League, Andy Gardiner.   The Premier Golf League is attempting to help rejuvenate professional golf and "shake shit up" to help increase viewership. The Premier League has been referred to as the "Formula 1 of Golf" and the Founder, Andy, has many different ideas to help fix the PGA Tour struggles.  We also had a special guest - Patrick Law - on the show to help us break it all down. Patty is the head professional at Minnedosa Golf & Country Club and shared some GREAT insights on what he thinks of the idea for this new league.  We spent over an hour discussing how the PGA has lost it's viewers since Tiger Woods has been away from the game. It's clear that the PGA has to change their roadmap and try to take advantage of the growth in golf during the past few years.  Could Tiger Woods be a potential Principal in this new league? What can the PGA to get it's viewership back? How would the Premier League help satisfy sponsors' concerns? How would the Premier League help satisfy players' concerns? And how would the Premier League help get more golf fans watching the events on a more consistent basis. We are now going to be paying YOU for your golf content to be shared across our platforms.
