Clint Davis, minister, counselor, and Army veteran had his friend Stephanie Sonn on to talk about the book Dopamine Nation by Anna Lembke. They discuss the rise in depression, anxiety, and a pleasure seeking culture that is primed for addiction. Many of us suffer from both behavioral and chemical addiction and don’t even know it! Stephanie Sonn is a licensed marriage and family therapist who has spent the last seven years working in substance use treatment, including withdrawal-management (detox), residential, partial-hospitalization, intensive outpatient and aftercare. She currently works on the Substance Use and Recovery Unit of Loma Linda University’s Behavioral Medicine Center in Redlands, California.
