Renowned catching coach Bobby Humphrey, a volunteer assistant at Bridgewater College and conductor of catching clinics across the U.S., joins Jay and Ken to talk about all things catching. He describes his early years as a high school and collegiate baseball catcher, how an injury led him into coaching, how he transitioned from baseball to girls fastpitch softball (and why he would never go back), and how it's changed over the years. He also shares what he believes are the foundational skills every catcher must have, some of the tools and approaches he uses to develop catchers, what he learned about evaluating players as an associate scout for the NY Mets and Philadelphia Phillies, and talks about his two books (one on catching and one on hitting).
