Ms. Najm and Ms. Abi Hana have significant experience in substance use disorders and mental health awareness in Lebanon. Ms. Najm is also on a Hubert Humphrey Fulbright scholarship at VCU researching substance use disorders and prevention. In this episode, we discuss methods to prevent and treat substance use disorders and we discuss genetics and risk factors of the disease. We also discuss the push towards improving mental health awareness and reducing stigma in Lebanon through Ms. Abi Hana's experience advising the Ministry of Public Health on this issue.
