Episode 66: Film Finds- July 2026 with Cole Echevarria

On the sixty- sixth episode of All the Film Things, my friend Emmy- award winning photojournalist Cole Echevarria returns for the fourth “wide- released” edition of our segment, Film Finds! This episodes contains spoilers about recent films 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, The Invite and The Odyssey and contains mild explicit language. The “Film Finds” segment is ATFT in its most casual, spontaneous form as we talk about the films we’ve recently watched with nearly nothing prepared. The last time we did a “Film Finds” episode was just over a year ago (give Episode 45 a listen) and the first “wide- released” Film Finds episode was Episode 3 (so check that one too while you’re at it). Like previous Film Finds episodes, I mostly talked about the older films I discovered and Cole, the frequent theater- goer, mostly focuses on the latest releases he has since his last appearance.This is Cole’s 22nd time on ATFT! As always, we do banter a bit but it is a little more sporadic this time around. This episode was recorded on July 30, 2026. In this episode, Cole talks about the films he’s recently watched, including Backrooms (2026) and The Sheep Detectives (2026) while I rave about the work of Joachim Trier and compare Sweet Charity (1969) to Federico Fellini’s Nights of Cabiria (1957), specifically the main characters. I also help Cole set up his Letterboxd profile and determine his four favorite films.
