Episode 66 - Tokyo Gore Police (2008) - "Tokyo Goon Police"
from I Didn’t Need To See That · host Peter Radwanski
This week on the pod, we’re keeping things light with all manner of monsters, wizards, facists and fetishists as we mainline the 2008 horror/comedy “Tokyo Gore Police” right into our brains. Strap it, because this film is a genuine hoot. From an over saturation of violence, to some genuine freaky kinks on display, Tokyo Gore Police is a film that doesn’t make a lick of sense and that’ just alright with us! We talk about this films love for practical effects; no surprise being the feature debut of Tokyo’s FX wizard, director Yoshihiro Nishimura, and how it frolics in its own depravity. We also can’t help but note the steadied hand by actor Eihi Shiina who brings a genuine intensity to an otherwise fever dream of a movie. This movie is insane, and you will be too! Plus, satires on fascsim, a lengthy discussion on Gooning, and two men try to solve the great debate once and for all; Is. Squirt. Pee?
