Episode 67 - The Great Muta vs Shinsuke Nakamura (Tokyo, Japan - 1/1/2023)

What is this match going to be most remembered for? Hopefully not the post match press conference. In what can only be described as a first ballot Hall of Fame worthy career, The Great Muta has his final singles match in The Nippon Budokan facing off against current WWE Superstar Shinsuke Nakamura. The match itself was a spectacle and featured one of the greatest entrances in modern wrestling history which is why we talked about the greatest entrances ever according to the Bleacher Report in the intro this week. Considered that the Great Muta was wrestling on one knee and was 60 years old, this was fairly good if not great ending to his illustrious career, discounting the post match press conference. We get into a very deep philosophical discussion about what Muta said in this press conference and whether it was appropriate or not. Tariq thinks that when considered, in context, and the fact that The Great Muta is 60 years old it isn’t out of context but Jim tells him why that doesn’t matter to people in America at all.
