Episode 68 Agegroup Triathlete Andrew Martin

Send us Fan MailWe welcome Andrew Martin as our agegroup athlete this episode.We believe he is the first guest from Wales we have had on the pod.Andrews sporting history began with running and being a Welshman, rugby.He took part in Cross country (was good, hated it), Andrew states he lived on a BMX, swam for a local club. Great start for someone who later in life became a triathlete.Andrew ran middle distance on the track . Achieved County swimming, running and semi pro rugby. Being Welsh, played rugby all his life until too many broken bones to continue. Arthritis problems with the help drugs and injections he controlled it. Unable to exercise properly, surfed for years but in his own words "got fat". Andrew discovered that cycling helped all the back spasms from the arthritis, and realised regular movement controlled it.He has now been doing Triathlon for nearly 10 years. He has been Welsh age group champ, Brit champ, Euro champ .
