His background is in video production and music. He worked as a freelance producer and sound engineer before entering full-time music ministry at Calvary Fellowship in 2009. He served as music director for four years, and helped start two successful churches in the Seattle city center, and was ordained in 2013. After a brief hiatus from ministry and working as a producer at Microsoft, Riley returned to Calvary Fellowship in 2014, this time as an associate pastor and director of the college ministry, then became the Lead Pastor in May 2018.
