No, there's something more sinister than that. One of the Pauls has trapped the other in a supposedly metatextual podcast about podcasting, only when trapped Paul tries to question the other's  intent he's met with hisses and jeers about "the whores down at the lake" until the first Paul falls into a sombre quiet.
