Episode 7: Combatting NYPD Fascism & Fighting for Freedom from NYC to Palestine with Bassel Hashem

Relly recounts his experience at the June 5th 2021 protest to defend Washington Square Park. Dimez discusses the aggressive arrests at last week’s pro-Palestine “Stonewall Was A Riot” march. This turns into a discussion about the beauty of solidarity at the Oct 21st Flood Brooklyn For Palestine march organized by Within Our Lifetime Palestine (@wolpalestine on Instagram, wolpalestine.com), and how the NYPD’s shocking display of police brutality unceremoniously brought it to an end. Guest and comrade Bassel Hashem then joins our hosts to discuss his experiences as a Palestinian living in New York, visiting family in Palestine, and breaking down the current reality of Palestinians as Israel carries out the ongoing Genocide in Gaza and the West Bank. PRODUCER'S NOTE: there were some technical difficulties with the recording software so the hosts feed was not available for the final 10 minutes of our conversation with Bassel. What you hear during that time is Bassel's remarks back to back in response to questions from Relly and Dimez that were unintentionally omitted.
