Episode 7 - Doxa
from Hermeneutics · host Crackers and Grape Juice
Doxology reveals the fallacy of letting kids choose whether or not they want to be a part of the church. Do you need a reference to the Holy Trinity for a doxology to truly be a doxology? Does each person of the Holy Trinity need to be referenced? Is hymn #95 correct? Is hymn #94? Are you a 'bad 95'er?' Are acts of public prayer a form of 'doxa' or are they an attempt to hold onto Christendom?

Didaché
Justin Peters
Didaché is the Greek word for teaching or doctrine. All Christians profess to love Jesus but few seem to have a passion for doctrine and theology. The Didaché podcast is dedicated to teaching sound doctrine and theology for it is by this that our knowledge of God is deepened which, in turn, enables our love for God to be deepened. The Bible says, "And this I pray, that your love would abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment" (Philippians 1:9). This podcast will discuss doctrine, theology, hermeneutics, and how to apply all of these disciplines so that we can live lives obedient to God's word and for His glory. We will see how, far from being boring, there is nothing more exciting and practical for the Christian than to both know and apply sound doctrine. Most of the programs will simply be straight teaching from Justin but from time to time he will also interview special guests on the program, deal with current theological issues as they arise, and will d
Covenant Hermeneutics and Biblical Eschatology
Kim Burgess & Gary DeMar
Theologian Kim Burgess likens systematic theology to dissection and biblical theology to vivisection. While both methods seek to understand what the Bible is saying, one works in bits and pieces, while the other works to understand the Bible as an organic whole. Traditional evangelical interpretations are too often informed by the dissection method and less by vivisection.
