I'm really interested to ask them how their Gary con has been so far for those of you that don't know Gary con is a Tabletop board game convention in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin where all kinds of nerds from all over the place gather and play board games and tabletop role playing games all day This is my second one I went in 2017 and now I'm here in 2019 and this is everyone else's first time so we're gonna Check in with the gang. I want to start with Tim. Okay. Hey Tim.
How's it going buddy? It's going really well I had a great time so far at this convention cool. What's what's been your favorite moment of the convention? Um, that's tough I don't know I really liked walking around the convention and seeing all the just being in this environment is awesome because you get to meet So many nice people like I think everyone we've met so far is so super nice Like just the general atmosphere and the vibe of everything and also all of the drinking we've been able to do like So much drinking and that's just that's just been so great for me to do it to do it like on a Thursday or Friday I mean, that's not too different for me, you know, just just just to be able to do it is great.

Um, I think that we are it's like a special circumstance But I had a really good time in our show cool. Yeah, that was definitely my favorite part Yep, you know and it was like it was a little hectic there for a few minutes And I think we're all kind of stressed out but like in the end we all just like did our shit Yeah, it was so fun. It was a really good show. I could not have been more pleased and yeah, like it was just so funny It felt so natural anyway Everyone that's listening to this is out because it was amazing.
Yeah, and like walking around before the show just like knowing that we had gear Right, right. I'm like a sly celebrity. I'm like with the band, you know, yeah, yeah, but nerdier and cooler. Yeah at the same time.
Yeah, awesome Very cool Jason What's same same question you what's been your favorite moment of the convention? Um the show was great. Um, I there were a lot of laugh out loud moments and those were really cool, but We were able to when we were play testing that game today It was like a lift that we needed while we were playing other games Mm-hmm and it kind of helped me realize how cool this is because we play in a way that's so different clearly from the sampling We've taken other people and I love that It was just fun to cut up today and not have to worry about anything So yeah, it was nice to take a breather and just enjoy go and do whatever And yes, I think it's pretty awesome that you can there's so many different ways to play this game that you can play it like we played Pathfinder today and the Dungeon master joke that Pathfinder is also known as math finder because late level Pathfinder is a lot of math It's a lot of calculating bonuses and it can get overwhelming for sure, especially if you've never played it before And there's certain people that enjoy that aspect where it's very technical and very specific But I really enjoy this sort of reform stuff that we do where it's very loose and we can just kind of tell a fun story We don't have to worry about like I don't know. I didn't like doing math in school I certainly don't like doing it as a hobby.
I don't want to do math for fun. Thanks, right? We are the achievers so anyway, well that does it with our intro segment We're gonna turn it over to our narrator time-traveling magician Cliff who's gonna intro episode seven don't go anywhere We'll be right back Days after they escaped from all Saint prison cadre 11 a are born and weary from traveling headed south with the group discovered several No traveling with none other than Gary the Minotaur Gary and the gnome that offered hospitality to the party acknowledging the help that cadre 11 a 40 Gary many months ago Bellies full of stew or as our car back and ordinate left the camp to continue towards town only to come across a grisly scene Several prisoners likely headed to more sink bound and nailed to pine trees were then set alight with a mystical fire only a day earlier The raiders tracks were headed north directly towards where the gnomes and Gary are traveling Racing on to the scene the gnomes tense world blaze and Gary had been surrounded by men on horseback with spears leveled at him A major accompanied by an armored night cast spells a fire chasing the gnomes away from their horned protector a fierce battle ensued Orzark taking on the mage in his night while ordinary in harbeck helped Gary in a final act of savagery the mage sent a fireball right at harbeck The damage would have killed him had Gary not gotten in the way Explosion ripped the Minotaur in half and left harbeck near death through the combined efforts ordinary was after leader of the raiding band was eliminated Left unburied for the crows and wolves to pick apart the leader With cajet the cruel and his band of raiders dispatched the party solemnly gathered the gnomes and took them to jury where the leader berry has a relative that could help The bustling port see surrounded by tits housing refugees and merchants alike The shelters and outbuildings cover both sides of the main road leading into town like a second small town situated just outside the gates of jury Audrey 11a is taken to the known merchant mix runs a flower and plant shop in sprawls outside in juries gates She agrees in exchange for helping her kin to help orzark harbeck in on elegant to the city The merchant gives them a writ of delivery to take parcels of flowers and plants to buy counters fell in how does cajet? We begin Episode seven the jury is out.
So you enter into the city you pass through the gates. You're walking along a wide boulevard the three of you in a line one two three you're carrying parcels of flowers and bouquets of Different plants and you have an address that maze had told you where to take these The city is it smells Like gross like it reminds you of what a lot smells like is any place where there's a ton of people and creatures It just naturally stinks So yeah, what do you guys do? Where do you go? I was just like poke my head into like a Like a post office type place.
I'm like a big and see if there is one of those Okay, yeah, so walking along the streets you can see that there are all kinds of market stalls vendors and eventually you come to a Like a money exchange place where they exchange copper for gold and silver and all that and you Don't see any posters of wanted men and women that match your description most of the posters you see are pictures of full-blooded orks or Yeah, you everyone that's wanted is basically a full-blooded org Well, I don't think we need to search for any type of cover. I didn't see any signs of us up No, I mean either. I suspect we're safe here in jury I Suppose we should make the delivery. Yes, of course fine fair agreed So The flowers repeat R2B delivered to how does cathedral?
You get general directions of where it is. It's near the near the docks near the river Making your way through the busy boulevard you come across a preacher that is standing atop a small platform looks to be like a Hasely put together a bunch of boxes and he put like a wide board on top of it He's standing on it. There's a small crowd that's gathered around him and he's preaching It dearest people of jury I beseech you to listen to the winds the world changes around us and we must open our eyes to its reality We must forgive our fathers. We must forgive our lords We must forgive our subjects and he's going on and on about forgiveness and and letting go and How all of this is going to end very soon so the sooner we let go of these feelings the better will be and the easier the transition Will be into the next life You there are people that are screening at him like it go the fucking side and then shut up and it's completely unabated Continues prosely proselytizing is that the word yes continues?

I'm just kind of trying to stay with you so continuing on to the Cathedral you get in its this tall gothic looking structure of cut stone and you can see that there are relief etchings on all parts of the Stonework that denote fishermen and boats and water mountains Stone and you can see there There is a an ox cart that's sitting outside with more flowers in the cart and there's a well-to-do a well-dressed man Standing in front of the cart pointing to people that are dressed in like rags that are moving around and gathering plants and taking them inside And some people are coming back out and asking him for questions. He looks very busy pointing and directing people I want to walk up to this guy and just showing my flowers Yeah, me too. So the huge like gothic style architecture super tall doorway the once you walk inside the Atrium before you get into the nave and I mean it's just all very tall and grand and you see a woman at the end nearly all There's flowers all over and she's in this fine silken gown She's not gown, but so can outfit silken coat with a fur around her neck and she's yeah She's directing servants to put flowers in certain places and she In the middle of like telling someone what to do she catches one of your eyes and points to you and and motions for you to come to her So we all shuffle over there. Yes So she goes up to a pew and there's a bouquets of flowers that are like on the ends of the pews and she's going to adjusting the flowers at the ends of the pews Well, um, we go ask her with the flowers. Yeah, absolutely and Yeah, so the Kyron Bursier is a the in ancient dwarven tavern Its architecture is unlike most of the other architecture around it You see like the the front is very foreboding. It's it's really big, but not tall. It's very squat and formidable and dwarven architecture just has this like utilitarian but also just strong and stout sturdy sturdy. Thank you.
We're a sturdy people and yeah, you Proceed into the city and come to the Kyron Bursier tavern Thank you So walking inside the bar despite being rather short and Wide the bar seems impossibly like big just the outside Defies how spacious the inside feels which again is a direct result of dwarves superior architectural tastes Thick wood support beams run across the open ceiling ceiling itself is an old faded dwarven painting depicts It actually depicts a story of the creation of the bar with cartoonized dwarves building a structure that resembles the outside facade And it's sort of like in these not quite comic strips But they're like in these little bits where you see like the taverns out there and then these other dwarves are putting it together and eventually You see what the outside that you saw earlier This place could easily hold a hundred people, but there's only a handful of people in the bar right now There's an enormously long 40-foot bar that stretches from one side to the other on the north side of the tavern Yeah, and so walking into the bar After everything that we've been through the last few days in the loss of Gary and just the trials of all of this being In prison and everything walking into something familiar feels so good for Harvak and he starts to relax a little bit and you know He's able to Yeah, relax and feel comfortable I'm noticeably reserved and quiet it's To me, it's like walking right back to where I was held captive before so this is a You know like a hole, and it's kind of cavern like and oh totally that's first time probably been in one since I escaped So I'm not I'm kind of Already outside of my element. You're good So I need some riggles Yeah, so this is kind of uh So the camera follows davery as he walks down the alleyway He cuts over to a street and walks down a boulevard cuts down another street heads down another alleyway He's winding his way through the street It becomes obvious to the audience now that davery is very well acquainted with the city He very much knows where he's going most of the time and eventually he makes it to a very Official looking building it's got the seal of the guild on the front of the doors and there are posters and requests for work that are all over the front of the building that are like Tapped and nailed to like the wood there's a um Like a wood board in front of the Guild office and it's overflowing with paper and davery walks past that walks up into the front doors and goes up to a There's a small desk and he approaches and says And a short gnome woman Gnomes are short, but she's especially short looks up at davery and says Yeah And davery nervously says uh Uh, yes, uh, I'm looking for were and the gnome He's not gonna screw this up She she looks up at him and says Rayleigh okay Gail did you have a number a guild number?
