Her education includes a Ph.D. in Community psychology and a masters in public health. She is also the owner of AmonBooks.   This episode (The Culture of Physical Health in the Black Community) takes a deeper look into the norms and culture of the African American community regarding physical health as well as mental health. We discuss the effects of generational trauma, the importance of a safe space when it comes to therapy, the pharmaceutical business, the lack of access to resources and services as well as the pros/cons of higher education in the medical field. The highlight of the episode, in my opinion, is when we brainstormed on what it would take to start our own hospital/dentist office.
