Carob Mars Former Foster alumnis, tells her story of putting herself into care at the age of Eight after experiencing a myriad of abuse. Though she is never adopted she hangs on to joy. As a young adult she struggles to keep afloat and finally finds her way to happy. Her young family attempts to navigate the foster system only to be faced with other hurdles and eventually they give up trying to adopt, realizing she can’t beat the system, she turns her focus on those who have also been unseen. She interviews for fosters at all ages and stages of life giving them a community to feel a part of something larger.  Carob's 3 top tips: 1. Empowerment should always be over entitlement.  2.
