Episode 71 - Fury

1945.  Wardaddy, Gordo, Bible and Coon-Ass.  Sounds like they could be characters from a Stephen King novel, but really they're in the new action-drama "Fury."  This is another WWII movie, but don't let that deter you - Phil was very skeptical that this picture would add anything new to the canon.  But it does add a cannon.  All four of the roustabouts mentioned above are soldiers in a tank, dubbed, "Fury."  Their mission is to penetrate Nazi Germany.  Norman Ellison (Logan Lerman) is a fresh replacement for their last gunner who had his face blown off during a battle.  Norman has no cool nickname, he has no military experience and he refuses to kill.  "Fury" would probably be better off with Pauly Shore instead.  Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) will not give up on making Norman a soldier, even in other ways, like bedding comely German civilian women.  Phil and Andrew have a heated debate about the ethics of that particular scene.  Feel the fury!  The conversation ranges from codes of masculinity, to surprising moments and character foibles.  Is this film worth your time?  Give a listen.
