EPISODE 71: MARCELO TIGRE

I first saw Marcelo Tigre compete in a massive fight at the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii. To this day the fight is the biggest fight in magnitude to ever take place on Oahu and the most historically remembered. The date was June 1st, 1999. Superbrawl Promoter T Jay Thompson had done a great job in capitalizing on the growing feud between Grappling Unlimited and Relson Gracie. This would all come to a head at Superbrawl 12. The Blaisdell Arena was sold out for the only time in history to date for an MMA event. The fight was a back and forth war that ended in a disqualification win for Egan Inoue.
