Episode 73: Dr. Suzanne Bennett — UC Health
from Failing Forward · host Failing Forward
In March, our lives were turned sideways at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s especially true for Dr. Suzanne Bennett, an anesthesiologist at UC Health, who went from performing relatively routine surgical procedures to helping craft the health system’s pandemic response plan. On episode 73, Suzanne talks about how she realized her dream of becoming a doctor after working as a nurse and what is has been like on the medical frontlines. As the director of UC’s critical division, she’s made personal sacrifices including working 16 to 18 hour days and deciding to have her three youngest sons temporarily stay with their father full-time this spring. Suzanne is also one of the doctors who cared for episode 72 guest Tonia Elrod, who suffered from a massive heart attack and several cardiac arrests.
