Born and raised in Brooklyn's Bed-Stuy neighborhood, Ken Granderson moved to the Boston area in 1980 to attend MIT, and in 1997 created the World's First Online Black History Encyclopedia https://BlackFacts.com. As far back as 1996, Ken also put Boston’s largest Black neighborhood of Roxbury, scores of Black businesses in several states, and the Government of the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia online. A visionary, world class technologist with an unwavering commitment to community, over the past 27 years, Ken has grown BlackFacts to be the World's Largest Online Source of Black History, News and Videos, with over 1 million historical and global Black news articles, and over 1000 original Black History videos, including our Black Facts Minute™ video series that tells the story of a Black History event for every day of the calendar year. BlackFacts “Puts Black Communities in Control of Our Narratives” via its proprietary AI-powered content aggregation, classification and syndication engine Timbuktu™ that powers the BlackFacts website for the general public, and empowers educators in 12 US states to teach Black History literally from the palms of their hands with BlackFacts ed-tech application Diversity Schoolhouse.
