Livingston Lures has long pushed the envelope on using sound waves in their lure designs to increase their effectiveness. Livingston Lures owner Erick Arnoldson joins us this week to discuss the evolution of their EBS (Electronic Baitfish Sound) technology. How has it changed for the better over the past 15 or so years? How have improvements in battery life made things easier? What species of fish is the most aggressive towards sound waves? We also discuss some new pros on the bass circuit that Livingston recently signed onto their pro staff. Then we get into some really exciting stuff when Erick talks about getting into the commercial fishing world. What kind of sounds do lobster and crab make? How did they record (or gain access to recordings) of those sounds? How effective are these new crustacean targeting devices at filling up crab pots? Erick actually spent some time on a crab boat in the Bering Sea while testing his device. We also get into the idea that this technology can also be used to deter certain underwater species, possibly even sharks.
