September is my favorite month of the year for so many reasons. Hunting season kicks off with the September 1st dove opener, temps are starting to cool off and football arrives at the same time. Then you factor in bulls bugling across the Lower 48 and early teal season and yeah, it’s tough to beat. In addition to early teal, Texas coastal tradition includes setting gator lines as well. On this week’s show we travel across the Lone Star State in search of West Texas free range elk, blue wing teal and alligator on the Southeast Texas coast. We also mix in a quick hit segment that highlights some concerning realizations from around the outdoor community from a national perspective. Henry makes his return (begrudgingly) and we discuss our recent trip to Winnie, TX for alligator and early teal. Not a bad way to play hooky from school: Then we travel around the outdoor community for a couple quick hits on Pheasants Forever and Outdoor Life seemingly promoting the anti gun Harris/Walz presidential ticket. Also, why did New Mexico Game and Fish pander to the demands of anti hunters and cancel a recent squirrel hunt aimed at recruiting young small game hunters? We wrap things up with a 9 hour drive to West Texas in search of free range bugling bulls. Certainly an interesting experience!
