Episode 75: Kindness When Things Don't Go To Plan

from SelfKind: Conversations in self-care, kindness and compassion for highly sensitive people

Let's talk about how our mindful movement practice can start to follow us OFF the mat and into the world. In this episode I want to talk about one thing in particular - and that's this idea of self-kindness in the face of less-than-perfect reactions to circumstances. It is possible for us to choose to meet ourselves with kindness even when that feels like the last thing we want to do. And the outcome can be profound.I encourage everyone to play with the ideas of self-kindness, compassion and curiosity on the yoga mat: allowing ourselves to be present with what IS in any given moment and to commit to responding to that with kindness. The yoga mat provides a lovely little training ground to play with these ideas and, inevitably, they will start to follow us off of the mat and into the world. We're not aiming for perfection here. Not at all. What we're aiming for is the capacity to meet ourselves with kindness and compassion in the face of our human imperfection.Tune in to find out more!
