Episode 75. The Swarm

from One Good Thing Hosted by Paul Salt, Paul Goodman

There are a lot of parallels between One Good Thing and 1978 horror film The Swarm. Both are unintentionally funny, there’s a lot of shouting and Paul drives as though he’s been stung by an eternity of bees. That’s where the differences end: we have two Pauls, none of which are Michael Caine, and we’re a podcast. So what right does that give us to talk about a film that patently isn’t two Pauls? What are you talking about? That has nothing to do with anyone. Get the hell off my front lawn before I push you off. The one good thing about The Swarm! Apt jingling, Robot Dad, Dr. Insect, the meaning of expertise, damn it Ned Nedson, sad Ed Harris, doin’ Ayoade and oh yeah, bees. Shut Up I Love It Sasha Feiler and Joe Cabello Many years ago, Sasha Feiler and Joe Cabello met in line for an improv show. They were young, dumb, and full of it. What followed were comedy shows so explicit, “genitalia” was practically a term of endearment.Fast forward 5 dogs, 6 cats, and way too many weird inside jokes later, Sasha and Joe are no longer young or dumb—but they’re still brimming with you-know-what. Here, they’ve teamed up to bring you a podcast where they interview a guest who passionately defends something universally hated, misunderstood, forgotten, overlooked, Mandela-effected, canceled—you name it. The key? They LOVE it. From toupees... to B-movies... to aliens, psychedelics, and the occasional surprise character, Sasha and Joe are here to spread love to the world that birthed them (but maybe should’ve used protection). So come and get that love because no one else will give it to you like we do.Also, don’t forget to check out the Patreon Bonus version of the show:https://www.patreon.com/c/ShutUpILoveItP Explicit Running In Slow Motion with Sidney & Tamra Smith You Hear Good Things podcast network Comedian Sidney Smith and his wife Tamra — a sharp-witted educator with a soft spot for flowers — team up to navigate life, goals, and culture at their own hilarious, at times, in-depth pace. They call it “running in slow motion,” and that pretty much sums up the vibe. This isn’t a marriage podcast (their union ranks a generous 5 out of 10, after all), but it is a refreshingly honest, smart, and funny take on relationships, ambition, and everyday chaos. From real talk to pop culture and unexpected interviews, it’s a joyride of relatable moments and laugh-out-loud observations. Explicit
