Episode 76: Kiss of Love or Kiss of Betrayal?

(Luke 7:38; Matthew 26:48-49) I will always remember the day I saw the man. His face was an expression of rejection and sorrow. In the distance was a woman absorbed in some activities I could not capture. Weighed down and greatly concerned by the man’s loneli- ness and gloom, I went to the woman and asked her if she knew the cause of the man’s mood. To my shock, the woman voiced out this response: “Don’t mind him, he wants me to kiss him and I don’t have time for him.” Puzzled by the woman’s reply, I walked up to the lonesome man who was now sitting on a sofa, and decided to cheer him up. After spending some time with him, I discovered that they were married. I did not see in him a husband who was ready to have a brawl with his wife at all. The findings saddened my heart and I wept. The woman that he affectionately loved seemed not to return his love. The behaviour of his unconcerned wife was disheartening. Deeply sorrowful and disturbed about the detached couple, I wept again and thought of ideas to help them. I knew I needed to do something to help them really fast. But what could I do? Whom should I go to for a word of advice on how to help this detached couple? I opened my eyes and felt a deep sense of heaviness... The scriptural verses below depicts the scene. As Christ-believers which one do we give? Kiss of Love or Kiss of Betrayal?
