Join an experienced search and rescue volunteer and his friend as they discuss all things related to hiking and search and rescue in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. This week we bring you to the center of the White Mountains Universe - also known as Mount Carrigain. Join us as we break down the various approaches to this classic NH hike and we will throw in some stories about near misses of disaster - Stomps climb of the Mount Lowell Shoot and Mike's experience with a friend suffering from Hypothermia on the Signal Ridge trail. Later in the show, Stomp is going to lead a brief discussion about broken specter phenomena. All this and some stories of hikers getting in trouble over the weekend.  Correction: We got the mileage wrong on Sawyer River Road - Parking lot is 2 miles into Sawyer River, Livermore is down the road to Sawyer River Trail. Stomp comes in from Hancock Notch so he referenced Livermore as being before Signal Ridge while Mike was talking in terms of coming in from Sawyer River Road.  Sponsors and Partners Rek-lis Brewing Company Retail locations Spinners Pizza Parlor in Andover Massachusetts Eastern Mountain Sports Friends of the show to Support TJS Foundation Website Tay's Summit Challenge website 48 Peaks Secrets of Aging Well: GET OUTSIDE Flags on the 48 Order Free Stickers Fill out the form for free SLASR Stickers Topics Religion Talk The Kanc was a disaster his weekend Flip Flop used to get rid of a bear TikTok Girl explains New Hampshire and Vermont guy stereotypes SLASR has listeners all over the globe Stomp is prepping for the apocalypses and NH Hunt for the Hungry Phillip Carcia completes the Single Season White Mountain Trace/Redline - third time is a charm Old guy finishes the PCT, Triathlon, Easter Island Pop culture talk Sponsor and Coffee Talk  Sober October Notable Hikes Segment of the Week - Mount Carrigain Segment Two - Broken Specter phenomenon Recent Search and Rescue News Show Notes Apple Podcast link for 5 star reviews Rescue Me 5k to benefit LARSAR Livermore Apparently the Kanc was a disaster last weekend An argument for flip-flops on your hike?
