from People and Places along the Heritage Trail · host Elkhart County, Indiana

Elkhart County is a place where quality craftsmanship, innovation and collaboration result in a well crafted life. With an appreciation for all things handmade and homegrown, we leave our mark on everything we hold. Elkhart County is Well Crafted. In this episode, we talk to Andy Jones, Elkhart Municipal Airport Manager for the city of Elkhart. Andy tells us all about the air show and WWII reenactment “Salute to Veterans World War II” event that will be held on May 20 and May 21 at the Elkhart Airport. It’s a big deal for Elkhart as the last air show was held 17 years ago and it's jam-packed with a lot of fun, exciting, historical and just simply cool things all weekend! We asked him what spectators will see and we talked all about German Tanks, Corsairs, P51 Mustangs, Multiple Stunt Planes, a General George Patton Impersonator, a 1942 Douglas C-53 Skytrooper with in Uniform crew, AND MORE. Then we chat to Courtney Franke, mill manager at Bonneyville Mill County Park, located in Bristol. He explains the history and heritage behind the Mill at Bonneyville, the process of making flour at the mill and how you may just be greeted with the smell of freshly baked goods when you visit. -------------- Subscribe to get notifications of new episodes of the People and Places along the Heritage Trail in Elkhart County, Indiana podcast because this year is filled with fun and exciting things to see, do, experience and explore in Elkhart County!
