The US Treasury is making an amendment to the proposal to monitor bank accounts with $600 or more in the account. The US Treasury now says they are moving towards accounts $10,000 and more. Under the proposal, first introduced in May, banks would report to the Internal Revenue Service several new pieces of information from U.S. bank account: The total amount of money flowing in and out of an account, with breakdowns for foreign transactions and transfers to the same account holder. Tesla hit a $1 trillion market cap on Monday following news that Hertz is ordering 100,000 vehicles to build out its electric vehicle rental fleet by the end of 2022. News of the deal brought Tesla’s stock to more than $1,045 a share midday, a new record high one trading day after the shares broke $900. The stock closed up 12.66% at about $1,024 a share. Facebook shares rose in extended trading on Monday after the company reported better-than-expected third-quarter earnings while revenue missed estimates. The company also said it’s adding $50 billion to its stock buyback program, helping lift the shares about 2% in extended trading. Mastercard is preparing to announce that any of the thousands of banks and millions of merchants on its payments network can soon integrate crypto into their products. This includes bitcoin wallets, credit and debit cards that earn rewards in crypto and enable digital assets to be spent, and loyalty programs where airline or hotel points can be converted into bitcoin.
