Episode 78: Watch out for the lame duck

from The Badger Politic · host Scott Stearns and Paul Sickel

We return from the Thanksgiving break with the Democrats having picked up 40 seats in the House of Representatives in the election. Back in Wisconsin, Scott Walker may have lost his race to stay governor, but he and the legislature are planning on making full use of the lame-duck period leading up to Tony Evers inauguration. Moving a Supreme Court race to improve chances of a judge retaining his seat, stripping the governor's office of rulemaking powers, and not least of all the possibility of removing the governor from having any say in redistricting. The last one opens the Republicans likely establishing a permanent one party state in Wisconsin. Buckle up for this one.
