Welcome to the Tweed Trends podcast. Hey, Evette, what's trending today? Hey, I'm Evette, hey girl. And you are tuned in to Tweed Trends.
It's the quickest way to find out what's trending today. Hey guys, and welcome to another episode of Tweed Trends. Today's episode title is Make School Testing Better. Let's get started.
DNA testing. We are aware that in New York, they are still testing the remains that they found from 9-11. I think that's really awesome. However, they have run into some issues because the remains have been exposed to heat, fire, as well as jet fuel, and that's made it very difficult for them to be able to extract DNA from the various remains that they do have.
However, they are making progress. They have recently just identified another young man, a 26-year-old that worked in the first tower that was hit. And the way they describe the process is that they have to crush the bone. And the finer that they can crush the bone, the more DNA they can extract.
Even though it's very little DNA that they are able to extract, they're able to do some type of method to compound the DNA three, four, five times over to be able to get enough to then test it against DNA that they have from some of the people that were actually in the crash and their relatives. So I'm really excited about this because now that gives me hope for the people in Texas if New York shares their method with them, maybe they can use that same process on those bones that they found at the school site and maybe connect some of those people with the people that they're related to. I think that's pretty awesome. Back to school.
It appears that now on the list of back to school items, people are putting bulletproof items on there such as bulletproof clothing, bulletproof backpacks. There are even some schools that are creating bulletproof shelters for the people, for the teachers and the students. In case something happens, that's where you run to. That's where you go.
Now, the reports are saying that it's the parents that are feeling this way. But honestly, in a way, I kind of feel like it's the actual businesses that are putting it out there. They found something. They found a thing that scares people, school shootings.
And they're like, you know what? I'm going to find something to go along with this fear to make people feel safer because then they'll want to do it. They'll buy anything if they think that their kids going to be safe because think about it. Should something happen at your child's school and you didn't get them that bulletproof backpack?
Then think of how terrible you'll feel that you didn't do anything to protect your child. So of course everybody's going to go buy all the bulletproof stuff. I don't know. I just really wish that this wasn't even a thing.
Like, why do people feel they need to go shoot schools? Shoot up in schools? I don't get that. I don't know.
Maybe one day it'll stop. Hashtag level up. I don't know if you've heard the new song by Sierra level up. But just like with Drake's in my feelings, there's a dance to go with level up.
And basically, it's the dance that Sierra does in the video. And people are posting it and they're loving it. However, Sierra has turned it into more than just a dance. She also wants people to then share three ways that they plan on leveling up their life.
And she starts by giving her three options of how she plans on doing so. She's going to read more. She's going to stay away from her phone. I can't remember what the third thing was.
But I think that's a really good thing to do. Seriously, how do you plan on leveling up? Let me know. Hit me on Twitter.
