Episode 79: The minor league is #INElkhartCo plus fun curbside concerts and a stunning 50th anniversary!

from People and Places along the Heritage Trail · host Elkhart County, Indiana

Elkhart County is a place where quality craftsmanship, innovation and collaboration result in a well crafted life. With an appreciation for all things handmade and homegrown, we leave our mark on everything we hold. Elkhart County is Well Crafted. Baseball is America’s favorite pastime, and for a good reason. There’s something about the sound of a bat hitting a ball, the smell of freshly cut grass, and the excitement of a close game that brings people together. But what’s even more fun than watching a baseball game? Being able to see a brand-new team kick off their season right here in Elkhart County. We kick off this episode hearing from Elkhart County Miracle President and team founder Craig Wallin. He tells us about all the fun things planned for this season and who we can see throwing out some of the first celebratory pitches of the season. Then we learn more about the Elkhart Public Library's Curbside Concerts from Trevor Wendzonka, the chief marketing officer for the Elkhart Public Library. Curbside Concerts this spring are all about reunions, good music, great friends and as always, these concerts are free. Trevor explains that bands play on the roof, so bring camp chairs and watch from their parking lot. We wrap up this episode celebrating Ruthmere's 50th anniversary and learning more about the fun things they have planned for this entire year. Executive Director Bill Firstenberger and Outreach Curator Andrea Hutslar share so many fun programs and events that are happening throughout the 2023 season that you'll want to check out.
