Born in Tanzania, Shiraz did his post-graduate studies in medical statistics and epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, gerontology studies at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver. Shiraz has taught in many countries, worked with health organizations world-wide, worked in refugee camps, done research on health and ageing. Presently he is running his own Grandparents Film Festival and celebrating Grandparents' Day in schools. When is he retiring, we asked Shiraz? Has his global experience affected his view on ageing?
