Episode 8: Bobby Abreu

On today's podcast, Jim breaks down the resume of former MLB right fielder Bobby Abreu.  First, Jim talks about the show Abreu put on during the 2005 home run derby (1:53) and then breaks down the diversified offensive portfolio Abreu held throughout this career (6:48). Next,  Jim compares Abreu and recent Cooperstown inductee Vladimir Guerro and breaks down why Vlad got so much love during his playing career than Abreu did (11:48). Then Jim introduces his newest short segment "Holy Stats" (21:18) and talks about how there have only been 44 legitimate 5-tool players in MLB history, Abreu included (22:50). Jim then talks about how all of the great National League outfielders of the 2000s like Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, and Ken Griffey Jr hurt Abreu and his Cooperstown case (36:16), before finally making a decision on whether or not Abreu should be in the Baseball Hall of Fame (38:49).
