Episode 8 - Tony Preston - Inspirational story teller about leadership and business.

This week I had the pleasure of speaking to Tony Preston, he is now a coach who helps trade businesses, sole traders and small service businesses hit bigger numbers and be more effective. However he also has an amazing story and it’s a privilege to bring his story to you. WHO IS TONY PRESTON: I am 56 years young, I left school before taking any GCE as I was certain I did not need them. At 17 my life was turned upside down after hitting a a lamp post at 60 mph on a motorbike. The accident put me in to intensive care. I emerged again partially paralysed and could only walk with the aid of steel caliper. I have had one job (apprentice). I started my first business age 19 and have been in business for 36 years. At 21 I had reconstructive surgery to fix the stuff that didn't work. (Thank you NHS) I have one fantastic wife of 35 years. I have traded in and traded out of more recessions than you could shake a stick at. No I have never lost everything! That must be terrible but I started from the bottom with nothing other than a £10 note and a one way National Express ticket. This is my condensed story, I was in care as a young child and as a young adult started my life on the streets homeless, I found my way to the YMCA age 15. I started my own business with a bag of paint brushes a couple of trowels and a spirit level. I know what it's like to have nothing. I come from nothing but was determined to become something so I adopted a positive attitude and decided to climb upward. I decided a very long time ago that I would be successful. I purchased my first property in London age 20.I now own a £1M portfolio of quality real estate. Better read my book for the blood, snot and tears.
