Today's episode features returning guest, Austin City Council Member Jimmy Flannigan (District 6). He and A.J. discuss the member's omnibus resolution, Item 91, developed in response to the dual impact of SXSW's cancellation and COVID-19. Set for Council consideration and vote on March 26, the resolution would direct City Manager Spencer Cronk to: (1) Develop programs and consider options to support the small and local businesses and workers impacted by the cancellation of SXSW and the additional subsequent measures taken to address COVID-19; and (2) Authorize the waiver or suspension of resolutions related to programs and policies cited in the resolution as necessary to effectuate this resolution.
