🎙️ TUXES & TOMAHAWKS EPISODE 80: SPECIAL EDITION - 25 YEARS LATER 9/11: MAKING IT HOME At 8:46 a.m. on September 11, 2001, my uncle was at work at 130 Liberty Street, directly across from the World Trade Center. He helped evacuate his floor, refused to turn back when an announcement told employees they could return to their offices, and eventually made it outside. Then he watched the South Tower fall. As the dust cloud consumed Lower Manhattan, he took shelter beneath a van, breathing through a handkerchief in complete darkness, wondering if he would ever see his family again. Hours later, covered in the dust of Ground Zero, he made his way to the Hudson River and escaped Manhattan by boat as part of the largest maritime evacuation in history. He eventually crossed into New Jersey and made it home to his family. Thousands never did. Twenty-five years later, my uncle tells his story in his own words for the first time; what he witnessed, how he survived, the people he lost, and what it means to Never Forget. This isn't history from a textbook. He was there. The episode will be published on 9/11/2026 at 0846 EST after the live episode. Listen, remember, and teach those who have forgotten or never knew what happened on the day that changed the United States forever.
