Episode 80: How the Revolution of Self-Care Changes Everything

from The Hippie Moms Podcast · host Becky Wells

The revolution of self-care is underway. From drunk weekend trips away, massages, and mani-pedi's, to cultivating nourishing actions that fill us up, instead of numb us away. The old self-care paradigm was founded on the attempt to fill the void within us, with something outside of us. It was built on escaping the life we created and the reality we need a reprieve from. The new self-care paradigm fundamentally requires us to be the source of fulfilling our void and dealing with the imbalances in our lives, rather than running from them. It is not glamorous, but it is sacred work. We must take action and make, sometimes hard, choices to begin to build the life that we love... the life we do not have to numb from. As mothers and women, we've been conditioned to put everyone else's needs before our own, which continues to drain our life force and unconsciously build a life that does not reflect our authentic expressions. By simply understanding deeper what self-care means, can propel us as mothers and women to be the generator of our happiness and wellbeing. NO ONE will ever fill the void we feel within us... it's through self-discovery, courage, and the willingness to let all expectations held by others float away into the abyss. My hope for this message is to inspire you to shift your focus on self-care and dive deeper into who you are meant to be in this precious life!
