Episode 80: ʻIʻiwi — Fun Facts, Sounds, & Their History ❤️

from With Love and Aloha - A Life Coaching Podcast · host Alyssa Lee

For today's Aloha Friday episode, I want to teach you about one of my favorite birds, the beautiful and elusive ʻIʻiwi birds ❤️    With their vibrant scarlet feathers, curved beak, and deep connection to Hawaiʻi’s native forests, the ʻIʻiwi tells a powerful story about evolution, resilience, and the interconnectedness of nature 🌿    In this episode, we explore the history of the ʻIʻiwi in Hawai'i, it's characteristics, and how it evolved over time to thrive in its environments. I also reflect on the symbolism of the ʻIʻiwi and what it can teach us about togetherness, balance, aloha, and finding the environments that help us thrive ✨   One of the most beautiful things about the ʻIʻiwi is how it evolved alongside other native elements of Hawaiʻi’s forests like the ʻōhiʻa lehua trees 🌺 Their relationship is a reminder that nature is deeply connected, and that growth and survival are often rooted in harmony and adaptation 🤍      They are also a protected species, so we touch on conservation efforts, and emphasize how special and delicate these birds and their ecosystems are 🌿    Tune in to learn more about our beloved native bird ❤️ Mahalo for listening, and happy Aloha Friday! 🌺🤍
