from The Hidden Athlete · host Ross Burrage

George Mallory was born in South Africa and quickly set about accumulating some extraordinary achievements in the world of Rock Climbing. His famous Grandfather George Mallory the explorer & mountaineer was the inspiration behind Georges brief transition into mountaineering which included a summit of the awe inspiring Mt Everest. After immigrating to Australia George developed a training concept where he would climb the height of Mt Everest on his bike in a single day, this became an obsession both before and after his actual climb of Mt Everest. A concept that is now recognised as the Everesting phenomenon amongst cyclists the world over. Enjoy what is a very fascinating chat with an incredibly humble and extraordinary athlete.
