Episode 84 - Just say YES with Quintin Jane

Everyone of us has a time in our lives when we are so tied to an identity and for lots of us that identity is linked to a job/career path. This was no different for our guest this week. His identity was linked to his love for watching House MD, so it was very obvious that being a doctor was the identity he was tied to. However, this does not work well when you arrive at university and discover that you do not like Anatomy!   This is the starting point for the conversation with Quintin as we explore this radical shift in identity as he now had to find something else to do while at university. As the podcast title says Quintin has had loads of just say Yes moments that have led him to being involved in various student run organisations, discovering a voice on the radio, penning journal articles and now running one of the most successful student bodies in New Zealand. This is great conversation that explores a journey that has been quite the rollercoaster.
