from Artbeat Radio · host Artbeat Radio

Welcome back to ArtBeat Radio! You’re listening to episode 20 of Quarantunes, where quarantine can’t stop our creativity! In this episode, we’ll hear musical expression from the artists at ART Center.  (0:30) “Something We All Enjoy” With this song, the class started by looking up samples on Soundtrap. After finding some samples they liked, the exported it and worked on it more by adding their own instruments and vocals. Students wrote their own lyrics and wanted it to be something you could dance to. A text-to-speech device can be heard towards the beginning of the song, which is being controlled by a student. Lyrics:  Welcome to our world of song Whether you sing or play an instrument, You matter everyday So, join us in our world of song  This song is like a bright, sunshiny day in Hawaii Oh yeah A truly, sunshiny day Yeah  This song is like a bright, sunshiny day in Hawaii Oh yeah A truly, sunshiny day Yeah  2:28 “Rock”  Students wanted to write and record a rock song. Throughout the song, you’ll be able to hear some live instruments and samples that students either recorded or chose themselves. The class was listening to some 70s and 80s rock and were inspired by that to create this song.  (4:03) “Stand By Me (Cover)” The class wanted to do a cover and voted to do Stand By Me. In this rendition, students are singing the bass part, verses, and the chorus. The keyboard in the song is being played by a student as well. A text-to-speech device can also be heard throughout the song, which is being controlled by a student to make it sound like it is singing.  Lyrics: When the night has come And the land is dark And the moon is the only light we'll see No, I won't be afraid Oh, I won't be afraid Just as long as you stand Stand by me  So darlin', darlin' Stand by me, oh, stand by me Oh, stand, stand by me Stand by me  If the sky that we look upon Should tumble and fall Or the mountain should crumble to the sea I won't cry, I won't cry No, I won't shed a tear Just as long as you stand Stand by me  And darlin', darlin' Stand by me, oh, stand by me Oh, stand now, stand by me Stand by me  Thank you to Brian Corder for this album artwork! Thanks for listening!
