Episode 88: What actually IS food guilt?
from Stronger Than Yesterday · host Taylor Trost
What is food guilt? Why does food guilt happen? There is actually a way to eat food in moderation and have a neutral mindset around food. The dictionary definition of guilt is a feeling of having done wrong or failed in an obligation. When guilt stands alone, that’s what that word means. Think with me here…have you ever done something wrong to a friend? A coworker? Felt guilt around hurting someone’s feelings? That is the feeling of guilt. It is an emotion that we FEEL throughout our body. Now think about the word guilt and tie it with the word food. It now means that you are having done wrong or failed BECAUSE of food… That sounds crazy saying it out loud right? I’ll be the first to tell you, food does not have emotions!! Food and guilt, do not pair together Now how do we overcome this mindset?
