from Living Light Radio · host Living Light Radio
Why It's Important To Understand & Express Your Anger Earlier this week I shared a Rumi quote about anger. "Anger is like a strong wind. It calms down after a while, but lots of branches are already broken." As I shared in that post, I picked that particular quote because I was feeling angry that day, and that is normal and natural. The key, I find, is to be angry at the right time and at the right thing/person. Some branches are meant to be broken, that's part of living a healthy life. There are many ups and downs and it's up to us to learn how to self-regulate. But so many of us are programmed to believe that anger is a "bad" emotion and that we should try to avoid it at all costs. Perhaps the people sharing the program mean well but I believe they are confusing anger with violence, and they are two different things. That's why in this week's episode I'm sharing some of the benefits of expressing your anger in healthy ways and how that can help you develop a better sense of self. Tune in to join the conversation.
