Episode 89 - Force Majeure

  Sometimes it takes an 'act of god' to prove the worth of a man.  During an initially idyllic family ski trip in the Alps, Tomas, Ebba and their two young children find themselves in a dangerous, snowy situation.  Husband and father Tomas' behavior in the near-disaster causes Ebba to re-think her husband's devotion to their family.  While Tomas insists he did nothing wrong, Ebba simmers to a boil and explodes with dismay at the perceived 'cowardice' of her husband.  Phil and Andrew both loved this movie.  Curiously, Phil found 'Force Majeure' as almost too dry and intellectual to be enjoyed on an emotional level, while Andrew found it to be a dramatic gut punch.  Check out all of their viewpoints on this episode.   You can download the podcast here by right-clicking on the hypertext link and choosing "save as", or you can use the convenient player attached to this post.
