Episode 9 — Leviticus 9: Fire Fell
from As It Is Written Hosted by Athena Vetterick
Leviticus 9, verse by verse. The eighth day — Aaron's first real ministry. Himself first: a calf for his sin offering, a ram for his burnt offering; then the people's offerings. The blessing with lifted hands — the words aren't recorded here; Numbers 6 gives them later. Moses and Aaron enter the tent together and come out blessing, the glory of the LORD appears to all the people, and fire comes out from before the LORD and consumes the offering — the ignition of the perpetual fire of chapter 6. The people shout and fall on their faces. Exegesis style: the text's own words first, honest about what it does and doesn't say.
