Episode 9: Matt Bardwell

Hi, my name is Anthony Sosa and this is “As an Artist.” A Local Famous Records podcast about local artists, their art, the creative process and the local scene. On this episode we have Matt Bardwell. To me, Matt is an artist’s artist. He is a painter, musician, multi-media artist, multi-instrumentalist and founding member of our Local Famous collective. He has been involved in many projects over the years including I am Warbird, Problem Dog, Temporal Distortions, Double Bear, and recently has been working on an EP for his new project Gleek as well as painting commissioned murals and pieces all over the US. In this episode we get pretty heady and philosophical in regards to the creation, meaning and purpose of art in relation to ourselves and in society. Check out Matt’s work on his IG and on Spotify. At the end of the podcast is the song “Action Saxon” by I am Warbird released in 2014.
