Episode 9 |Preserving our inner self with Zikir

from Zikr 101 (2024 Ramadan series) · host Khwaja Ehsanullah Shah

“We should be preserving our inner self with the remembrance of Allah ﷻ, and it is a preservation from being forgetful — of forgetting Allah ﷻ “ – Khwaja Ehsanullah Shah The attitude of accountability is one that will allow us to be people who reconnect and are in constant remembrance of Allah ﷻ. Being one who is taking responsibility for the actions that they perform would mean that they are able to differentiate the harmful from the helpful. This would mean being aware of what makes us ‘slide’ away from Allah ﷻ. With the way we are living currently, the ability to differentiate the harmful from the helpful is clouded – people do not want to take accountability of what they are doing and this is reflected in the way they lead their lives (eg. the way we wake up, how we treat our parents etc.). What we need to do is to take the power of zikir and change it into something with hasanah (goodness). The power of zikr is a way to reconnect back to Allah ‎ﷺ. With constant remembrance of Allah ﷻ, will we receive the power from Rasul ‎ﷺ ‎and zikrullah. This power is what will save us.
