Episode 9 What PTSD Looks Like for a War Hero | Eric Castor’s Story of Survival and Healing
from The Resilient Warrior Nation · host The Resilient Warrior Nation
In this deeply personal episode, I had the honor of sitting down with Eric Castor, a former Air Force Pararescueman (PJ) whose life was forever changed by the traumatic events of the 1996 Khartoum Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia. Eric’s story is one of unimaginable loss, survival, and, ultimately, healing. He shares how he witnessed the loss of 19 service members and was himself caught in a blast that injured hundreds. The PTSD that followed nearly consumed him, leading to years of struggling with depression, addiction, and an internal battle he couldn’t escape. But this isn’t just another story of pain; it’s a story of transformation. Eric opens up about finding healing through plant-based medicine, specifically Ayahuasca, and how that experience not only helped him confront his trauma but also sparked his mission to help others. He co-founded the Inekawa Spiritual Retreat center, where veterans and others seeking healing can go to find peace and recovery. This conversation is raw, powerful, and eye-opening as we talk about what PTSD truly looks like, the long road to recovery, and how we can support those who carry invisible scars from war. If you’re wondering how a hero survives the unthinkable, or how someone can rise from the depths of despair to find healing, Eric’s story will give you hope. ______________________________________________________________ IG: https://www.instagram.com/thecastor2.0/ IG: https://www.instagram.com/inekawa_retreats/ Website: Inekawa.org Learn more about your ad choices.
