Episode 90 | Mackenzie Burgoyne | Light Horse Ultra & Women’s Classic

from WA Running Podcast · host The WARP

Monday 8th September 2025 We’re joined by Dubbel’s Mackenzie ‘Coach Macka’ Burgoyne as he finalises his preparations before his Bibbulman Track FKT attempt starting on the 26th September 2025.  Chris is back from his European adventures trying to emulate Vlad with his running before succumbing to another toilet story on Father’s Day. Meanwhile Simon ponders on whether he should be a sandbagger or go for it at the Melbourne Marathon in 34 days time.  In local results, we had the Ultra Series WA Light Horse Ultra down at Perry’s Paddock in Woodvale with Phoebe Hurliman and Shaun Hall taking out the 24 hour race as well as the WAMC Women’s Classic WAMC clubrooms with Elyse Durtanovich and Anna Watts taking out the 5km and 10km respectively.  Some sad thoughts regarding Simon’s only chance of a rebel voucher prize and our next community run with TRC & Puma on Wednesday 17th September. Kiran Gurung runs 45 laps in full army gear, gas mask and a menacing dagger is this week’s weapon of WARP.  Results Melissa Jolly & Samuel Tennant take out the 3hr race  Jodie Pearce & Jamie Oborne take out the 6hr race Jasmin Dunlop & Coach Macka take out the 12hr race Phoebe Hurliman & Shaun Hall take out the 24hr race Elyse Durtanovich & Anna Watts take out the 5km & 10km WAMC Women’s Classic Reach out and connect!
